Week8-Expanded Studio Practice for Twenty-First Century Sound Artists
I was trying different technological machines this week: Both getting used to the Playtronica Touch me & Assembling the DJ Mixing table. They are very interactive and easy to get my head around. I am not ready to apply them to make sound installations for now but I will have them in my element 2.
It only takes me an hour on assembling the DJ table and actually, it sounds quite cool. I am thinking of putting it into a costume because the lightness of it is quite fit and the great thing about it is it has two speakers itself.
Costume perspective
Joshua Lee Sundquist (born August 6, 1984) is an American comedian, Paralympian, and author. He lost his left leg to Ewing’s sarcoma at age nine and later became a Paralympicski racer. His memoir, Just Don’t Fall: How I Grew Up, Conquered Illness, and Made it Down the Mountain, was released in January 2010. A new show on Apple TV+ has recently been released called Best Foot Forward about his early life experiences.
Every single year, he dresses up in a Halloween costume that integrates his disability in a comedic and quirky way. Here’s how he dressed up over the years. He inspired me on how should I design my costume for my project. He talked about the feeling of artificial legs and how feet affected people physically.
