Week 7: Building a Single Chip Space Invader Synth

In this session, we are trying to build a single-chip experimental mono voice synthesiser. The single-chip space invaders synth sounds a lot like the old-school console and arcade games that inspired its name because it relies on many of the same sound generation techniques.

I haven’t got it finished but at least I discovered some failures that would be happened in the future.

1. I soldered the holes too messed up. The horizontal lines should be desperate.

2. I followed the instructions to solder the resistors, but it won’t be helpful cause we are using different circuit boards. What’s more, the first line and bottom line should not be empty.

I am looking at Circuitmess’s DJ table and I find it quite interesting cause I can assemble myself and I can put it into a costume. The speakers on the top of its head which were designed to be it is really helpful for performance as well.
